Anjita Child Development Foundation, in collaboration with Swisscontact and the Pwani Region Administration conducted two weeks training through it’s gender based project titled Empowerher through Skills project. The training program for 150 young mothers is a part of empowering Young women from vulnerability situations. The training sessions took place at Kwala, Mlandizi, and Tangini wards from October 29 to November 8, 2024.
Mainly the young women who are the key beneficiaries have gained practical skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, small business establishment and management, gender sensitivity, sexual harassment awareness, life skills, sexual and reproductive health, and psychology.
During the training, several government leaders including the Assistant Administrative Secretary for Planning and Coordination Edina Kataraiya of Pwani Region visited participants and encouraged the young mothers to actively participate in both soft skills and vocational training, emphasizing that this will enhance their employability and, ultimately, help increase household income upon completion of the program.
